Dec 13: Superhuman for Calendar. You have to experience✨ it yourself to appreciate the gulf in class
Vimcal is the world's fastest calendar, beautifully designed for a remote world 🏖️
A. The Problem and The Pitch
Do you work across many time zones? 🗺️
And schedule a lot of meetings? 🖥️
Then you're going to love what's in store today.
How do you schedule meetings? 🗓️
Do you decide a time after some back and forth over email? And then struggle with some mental math over timezones?
Then, you're probably wasting hours every month on something that can be super fast and delightful. For both, you and the person you're setting up the meeting with.
And Calendly is going to seem like a tool from the stone ages after you see this 🥲
The app in the spotlight is Vimcal ⚡
It is a part of the new age of "Craftsman SaaS products".
Products that take users seriously. And offer a luxurious experience.
And as a16z (Molly Mielke) puts it, we're craving 💜 more interesting, more opinionated tools:
As technology advances, software will increasingly be chosen not just for how well it addresses its use case, but how it conveys its personality, similar to how we choose our clothes.
We’re already beginning to see this shift...What we’re witnessing, I’d argue, is the reemergence of style in software: the process of humans recognizing and projecting their sense of self onto products — turning inanimate pixels into something with soul.
✨ Enter Vimcal ✨
It's your personal executive assistant. Disguised as a calendar app.
It's the world's fastest calendar, beautifully designed for a remote world 🏖️
Vimcal is different because it has a real focus is on remote teams (see more below). It comes fully featured with timezone conversion, booking links, keyboard shortcuts, and everything else a modern calendar app should have.
The community also loves Vimcal. It was Product Hunt's #1 😻 Product of the Month - October 2021.
B. What's special?
Vimcal is the "Superhuman of Calendars" 🦸 and features some extremely thoughtful and delightful touches.
It's rare when the first interaction with an early-stage product expands your perspective. For what an exceptional experience ✨ can actually look like.

Word of mouth is one of the key drivers for Vimcal:
C. What's more?
📆 Competition: The calendar and scheduling space is extremely crowded. And Vimcal creates a strong niche for itself with its opinionated software. I'll be doing an in-depth piece on calendar apps next year. Stay tuned! (We have already covered Motion and Reclaim.ai in the last few weeks)
🔭 What’s Vimcal’s story?
My co-founder, Michael, and I first came up with the idea for Vimcal while fundraising for our last startup, Postura. Almost overnight, we started needing to schedule 30+ investor meetings every week.
As much as we loved using Calendly, sending just a URL to an investor came off as rude. We had no choice but to manually coordinate what times we sent to who. Mix in Asian and European time zones, and the result was a bunch of embarrassing double bookings, “oops that time is taken”, and accidental 4am calls.
~John Li (Co-founder & CEO, Vimcal)💻 Availability: Vimcal is currently available for any GSuite account.
You can access it via the browser (Mac/PC/Linux), MacOS app (Regular Mac/M1), or Chrome Extension. Mobile app, Windows app, and Outlook integration are coming soon.✌️ Would you recommend Vimcal? Superhuman's co-founder does!
📈 How big do you think this space can get? (No napkin math attached) 🤣
D. What’s next in the 🗓️ App Advent Calendar?
